Schoology Grade Calculator

Use the grades already posted in your Schoology courses, understand how each category is weighted, and test future scores without changing the real gradebook.

Your Schoology grades, with the math made clear

GradeSync connects through Schoology authorization and organizes your available courses, assignment scores, grading categories, and current percentages in one place. Instead of rebuilding a gradebook by hand, you can start with the grades already posted for you.

Calculate the questions students actually ask

  • What happens to my overall grade if I earn a different score on an assignment?
  • What score would I need to reach a target course grade?
  • How much does a test, project, or final affect a weighted category?
  • What changes when an assignment is added, dropped, missing, or excused?

Weighted categories and points-based courses

Schoology courses can calculate grades differently. Some teachers weight categories such as tests, homework, and projects. Others use total points. GradeSync uses the course information available from Schoology so a hypothetical score follows the same structure instead of assuming every class works the same way.

How Schoology grade calculations work

In a points-based course, the current grade is generally the total points earned divided by the total points possible. In a weighted course, each category average is multiplied by its category weight, then those contributions are added together. A teacher can also choose whether a category is calculated by total points or by averaging assignment percentages, so the course settings matter.

Worked example

An 86.4% weighted grade

If tests are worth 70% of a course and average 84%, while homework is worth 30% and averages 92%, the weighted result is (84 x 0.70) + (92 x 0.30) = 86.4%. GradeSync applies the available structure from the actual course instead of asking students to rebuild it manually.

Final-grade planning

When a final exam has a separate percentage weight, GradeSync can estimate the score needed to finish with a target grade and the course grade produced by a possible final score. The weight you enter can be reused across courses and adjusted whenever a syllabus uses a different rule.

Read-only and independent

GradeSync never edits an assignment or grade in Schoology. It is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by PowerSchool or Schoology. Sign-in availability depends on participating Schoology districts.
