How GradeSync uses and protects the information needed to provide Schoology grades, calculations, comparisons, and alerts.
What GradeSync collects
When you authorize GradeSync, it accesses information available through Schoology for your account, including your name, email, profile information, school or district, courses, assignments, and grades. GradeSync never receives or stores your Schoology password.
How GradeSync uses data
GradeSync uses this information to operate the product: display courses and grades, calculate GPA and what-if scenarios, preserve recently synchronized courses, send alerts you enable, provide aggregated comparisons, and support opt-in assignment leaderboards. GradeSync does not sell or rent personal information.
Storage and security
Course and grade data needed for GradeSync features is stored on infrastructure hosted primarily by Cloudflare. Schoology authentication tokens are encrypted at rest. GradeSync limits access to operational systems and retains data according to product and security needs.
Class averages and leaderboards
Class averages use aggregated compatible data from participating GradeSync classmates. Individual assignment leaderboard sharing is opt-in, limited to the relevant class context, and removable. Public GradeSync pages do not publish live student scores or membership.
First-party signup attribution
GradeSync records limited signup attribution, such as campaign parameters, the referring site's hostname, the first GradeSync page visited, platform, and onboarding milestones. This helps us understand how students discover GradeSync and where signup fails. We do not use third-party advertising analytics, sell this information, or send it to advertisers.
Notifications
If you enable email or iPhone notifications, GradeSync stores the preferences and delivery information needed to provide them. Notification providers receive only the information required to deliver the selected message.
Read-only Schoology access
GradeSync reads information to display it back to you. It does not create, edit, submit, or delete grades, assignments, courses, or other Schoology content.
Data deletion and revoking access
You can sign out to remove the active GradeSync authorization from your device. To request deletion of remaining account data, email support@gradesync.one from the address associated with your account.
Students and schools
GradeSync is built for students and uses school data only to provide the product and protect its operation. GradeSync is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by PowerSchool or Schoology.
